Renault has officially launched the third-generation Duster in India at a starting price of ₹10.49 lakh (₹10.29 lakh with R Pass), marking the return of one of its most iconic nameplates.
But unlike the earlier Duster, this isn’t a one-size-fits-all SUV anymore.
It’s a carefully layered product, and your buying decision depends heavily on where you enter the lineup.
A Comeback Built on Strategy, Not Nostalgia
The new Duster isn’t just an update - it’s a complete reset.
Built on a new modular platform
Higher structural rigidity and improved dynamics
212 mm ground clearance + SUV-focused geometry
Feature-loaded cabin with modern tech
Powertrain Strategy: One Engine Clearly Dominates
The lineup includes:
•
Turbo petrol (TCe 100)
•
Turbo petrol (TCe 160 – 163 PS / 280 Nm)
•
Strong hybrid (launching in Diwali)

But early trends already reveal something important:
The TCe 160 is the core engine
Hybrid demand is strong but supply-limited
This aligns with a broader shift buyers in this segment now expect performance & efficiency, not just affordability.
Variant Strategy: Where Renault Got It Right
Instead of overlapping trims, Renault has created a clear upgrade ladder.
Authentic Entry, Not Recommendation

👉 Cruise control
👉 Rear camera
👉 Alloy wheels
👉 Pair it with the TCe 160 (₹12.99L) and you get a strong mix of performance and essentials features.
👉 This is likely to be a volume driver
