Toyota has updated the Glanza for 2026, strengthening its position in India's premium hatchback segment with a revised exterior, additional equipment and a new petrol engine. Prices start at ₹6.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The update brings the Glanza closer to the latest Maruti Suzuki Baleno in terms of technology and powertrain, while Toyota continues to offer the hatchback under its own brand and dealership network.

2026 Toyota Glanza Price
The new V(O) variant sits at the top of the range and introduces Level 2 ADAS. Prices listed above are starting prices for each variant; the final price depends on the fuel and transmission combination.
Revised Front Design Gives the Glanza a Fresh Identity
The most noticeable changes are concentrated at the front. The Glanza receives a redesigned bumper, a prominent honeycomb-pattern grille and revised chrome detailing, giving it a more pronounced appearance.
A shark-fin antenna and updated alloy wheel design add to the changes. The overall shape remains familiar, however, and the facelift does not represent a complete redesign.
For buyers, this is primarily a styling refresh rather than a change in the car's fundamental proportions or body style.
New Features Focus on Comfort and Convenience
Toyota has added equipment that makes the Glanza more competitive in the premium hatchback category. Depending on the variant, the updated model offers ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Other highlighted features include a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, connected-car technology and a touchscreen infotainment system.
These additions address everyday usability, particularly for buyers who spend considerable time driving in city traffic. Ventilated seats may be especially useful during hot Indian summers, while a 360-degree camera can help with parking in tight spaces.
However, buyers should check the variant-wise equipment list before booking, as all features are not available across the range.
Level 2 ADAS Arrives on the Glanza
One of the most important additions is Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, available on the new V(O) variant.
The driver-assistance package includes features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist and high-beam assist.
These systems can support the driver in certain situations, but they do not replace attentive driving. Their real-world usefulness also depends on road markings, traffic conditions and how the driver uses the technology.
The addition gives the Glanza a more substantial safety-technology offering. Buyers should nevertheless distinguish driver assistance from crash protection and consider the car's full safety equipment rather than relying on ADAS alone.
New Three-Cylinder Engine: Efficiency Versus Performance
The facelift brings a significant mechanical change. Toyota has replaced the previous 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated Z12E petrol engine.
The petrol unit produces 83hp and 112Nm of torque. It is available with a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed AMT.
The CNG version produces 70hp and 102Nm, with manual and AMT options also offered.
Compared with the outgoing petrol engine, the new unit produces 7hp less power and 1Nm less torque. Toyota's focus is on improved fuel efficiency, supported by an idle start-stop function in the petrol version.
The change creates an important consideration for buyers. Lower output does not automatically make the new engine a worse choice, but those who value quick acceleration and smoothness may want to drive it before making a decision. Actual fuel economy will depend on traffic, driving style and vehicle load.

Toyota Glanza vs Maruti Suzuki Baleno: What Changes for Buyers?
The Glanza and Baleno share their core engineering and remain closely related products. Consequently, the decision between them is unlikely to be based on mechanical differences alone. The updated Glanza's revised styling, expanded feature list and ADAS-equipped top variant strengthen its proposition. At the same time, buyers should compare equivalent variants of both hatchbacks rather than relying only on their starting prices.
Factors such as the final on-road cost, dealership accessibility, service convenience, warranty terms and ownership preferences may influence the decision just as much as the equipment list. The Glanza also continues to compete with the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz, giving buyers alternatives with different styling, cabin experiences and product positioning.
VahanWarta Insight: Features Are Only Half the Story
The 2026 Glanza facelift reflects a broader change in what buyers expect from premium hatchbacks. Features once associated with more expensive cars, including ventilated seats and advanced driver assistance, are becoming part of the competition in this segment.
But the new engine presents a different side of the story. The Glanza gains technology while moving to a lower-output three-cylinder petrol unit. For customers, the final judgement will depend on whether the additional equipment and expected efficiency gains outweigh any compromises in driving character.
Toyota has strengthened the Glanza's feature offering, but the more useful question for buyers is whether the complete package suits their daily driving needs and ownership priorities.
Should You Consider the New Toyota Glanza?
The updated Glanza deserves consideration if you want a premium hatchback with petrol and CNG choices, manual and AMT transmissions, and additional comfort and driver-assistance features.
Before booking, compare the variants carefully, check the final on-road price and take a test drive to assess the new engine's performance in your typical driving conditions.
The takeaway: The facelift makes the Glanza more feature-rich, but the best buying decision will come from comparing equipment, engine performance and total ownership costs, not just the badge or launch price.
