Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG Spied With Twin-Cylinder Setup: What It Means for Buyers
Mahindra appears to be preparing a CNG version of the XUV 3XO, which has been spotted with a twin-cylinder setup beneath the boot floor. While the launch timeline has not been officially confirmed, the latest spy shots offer a glimpse of what could become a new addition to Mahindra's compact SUV lineup.
Twin-Cylinder Setup Could Improve Boot Space
Spy images published by Raj Damya 1001 reveal two CNG cylinders positioned beneath the luggage compartment. Similar technology is used in the Tata Nexon iCNG, helping improve luggage usability compared with conventional CNG layouts.
However, Mahindra has yet to disclose the CNG storage capacity or usable boot space of the upcoming SUV.
Engine and Features
The XUV 3XO CNG is expected to use a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Its CNG-mode power output, fuel efficiency and transmission options remain unconfirmed.
The spy images also reveal familiar exterior styling and a CNG/PETROL selector inside the cabin.
Competition With Tata Nexon iCNG
The upcoming XUV 3XO CNG could compete with the Tata Nexon iCNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza S-CNG. Its pricing, real-world performance and luggage capacity will determine how competitive it becomes.
VahanWarta Insight
Twin-cylinder technology is no longer a unique selling point. Mahindra's real challenge will be delivering a practical CNG SUV with competitive pricing and usable boot space without compromising everyday performance.
The next official announcement should provide greater clarity on the model's launch timeline, specifications and pricing.
